Frederick Stretch Therapy

a clinical assisted stretch technique designed to realign, restore, renew

the magic of FST is here to unwind you.

think of your body as an instrument; instruments make music when tuned.

Frederick Strech Therapy is unique therapy system of assisted stretching + tissue release which focuses on increasing mobility of muscles, joints, and fascia (connective tissue). While on the massage treatment table, the therapist gently guides the client into specific stretches to facilitate relaxation, healing movement, and tissue release. Every session is choreographed in accordance with the current state of your fascia, which ebbs and flows day to day. After a brief assessment in the beginning, stretches are altered, fine-tuned and personalized to honor exactly where your body is in the moment. Fascial stretch therapy uses the power of traction, stimulating + hydrating fascia, creating more space within joint capsules, and increasing your limbs range of motion immediately. Clients often rise from the table feeling noticeably soft, flexible, relaxed and inspired by their newfound musical body!

What to expect in an FST session:

  • The client will lay on a cushioned therapy table, the body secured with a comfortable strap and relaxing entirely as the therapist moves the limbs through all angles and ranges.

  • The therapist will focus on reading the connective tissue and gently encouraging the myofascial system to melt tension away.

  • The client focuses on breath and relaxation, listening to calming music, giving the therapist their full weight. Some clients fall asleep during their session! This pain-free stretching technique improves flexibility on the first session and becomes cumulative with multiple sessions.

Benefits of Fascial Stretch Therapy:

  • Creates optimal circulation in your muscles, joints, arteries, veins, brain and spinal cord

  • Manipulates, lengthens, realigns & reorganizes your fascia

  • Eliminates trigger points

  • Improves muscle activation, relaxation, posture, and functional ability

  • Restores healthy joint space

  • Restores sports performance

  • Reduces injury risk

  • Reduces or eliminates tight muscles, joints, pain, and stress

  • Puts the body into a parasympathetic nervous system state for restoration and repair

This technique involves constant motion and glide through the entire body, moving through the myofascial meridians, therapeutically addressing these movements through gentle traction which grants clients access to limited or unused ranges of motion. This scientifically reviewed method was originally designed by physical therapists for professional athletes and dancers, and is now used extensively for anyone looking to improve their overall health and wellness - even doctors are beginning to prescribe it as therapy for patients! It is now a clinical method scientifically proven to improve and/or eliminate low back pain.

Client testimonial of her FST experience :

“I have been going to Corinne for over a year for both Pilates private lessons and FST (Fascial Stretch Therapy). She is the best Pilates instructor I have worked with in regards to her knowledge of PIlates and body movement, communication skills, ability to read my body and work me appropriately. I came after having spinal surgery and was nervous not to get hurt. She understood and it was perfect the amount she had me work and move. I never felt unsafe.
I had never had FST before and it is wonderful. She stretches you in ways you cannot do yourself. I go in with some aches and pains and come out feeling so much better. I warn you - it is addictive. It is different from a massage because it moves your joints and limbs in ways that actually make changes in your body. Corinne has a gift with her touch and how she feels your body move so that you will benefit from her treatment. It is a treatment. Thank you Corinne.”
